Auto repair chain in Bartram Village | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

A franchise of Christian Brothers Automotive, a Houston-based auto repair and maintenance company, plans to build a site in Bartram Village, south of Jacksonville.

The city is considering a building permit application for 1.1 acres at 13918 Village Lake Circle, off Old St. Augustine Road west of Interstate 95, at an estimated cost of $950,000.

A Christian Brothers spokesperson said the franchisee prefers not to be identified. Franchises are sold by territory, which means that each store attracts customers from a defined service area.

Christian Brothers Automotive has expanded to over 245 locations in 30 states.

In Florida, 10 stores are open in the Tampa, Brandon, Melbourne, Land O’ Lakes, Lakeland, Clermont, Riverview and Apollo Beach areas with seven locations under development around Jacksonville, Orlando and Sarasota.

The Jacksonville store will be the last of seven planned Florida locations to open, the spokesperson said. It is in the early stage of development.

Building plans show Christian Brothers Automotive Corp. as owner. ID Studio 4 LLC of Irving, Texas is the architect.

The estimated initial investment for a Christian Brothers Automotive franchise ranges from $454,250 to $582,400, with 82-83% of the investment typically funded over a 10-year period using loans from the Small Business Administration, said the spokesperson.

Christian Brothers Automotive is a partner in the VetFran program, which provides franchise opportunities for veterans. Approved applicants receive 10% off the total franchise fee.

“Christian Brothers is continually on the lookout for exceptional properties that allow it to be close to where its customers live, work and shop. The company also directs the site selection, acquisition, development and construction of each property which it then sublets to its franchisees,” the spokesperson said.

The company said it was built on the idea that getting a car serviced should be easy.

“Christian Brothers Automotive offers free shuttle service, educational quotes and free courtesy inspections for customers. From simple maintenance such as an oil change to more complex repairs and engine diagnostics, Christian Brothers Automotive deals with automotive problems as soon as they are detected, which could otherwise require expensive repairs or replacements down the line” , said the spokesperson.

Christian Brothers was founded in Mission Bend, Texas in 1982.
