Jim Glaze Jr., longtime owner of the Jim Glaze Auto Center in Redlands, died peacefully in his sleep on May 22, 2022. He was 74.

Born August 16, 1948 in Redlands, he was the eldest child of James Glaze Sr. and Marguerite Woods. Glaze was raised and educated in Redlands, graduating from Redlands High School in 1966 and then from the University of Redlands in 1970. He later earned his Masters of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona State University at Phoenix in 1971.

In 1972 Glaze returned to Redlands and helped his father, Jim Glaze Sr., run his small Lincoln Mercury car dealership. Eventually picking it up and expanding to Jim Glaze Auto Center which sold Lincoln/Mercury, Dodge, Mazda, Oldsmobile, Jeep, Chrysler/Plymouth, Navigator and used cars.

He married Alexis in 1988. They had been high school sweethearts at Redlands High before reconnecting later in life. They were married for 34 years.

Glaze was an avid hunter and serious fisherman who enjoyed and spent many hours traveling the world to fish. He enjoyed sharing these skills with his children and grandchildren.

Growing up in the automotive industry, Glaze loved cars and owned many different cars in her life.

His parents predeceased him. He leaves behind a legacy of descendants through his four children and ten grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Andy Glaze and his wife Lauren, their three children, Hayden, Marley and Peyton; her daughter Shelley Kelley and her husband Peter, their two children Cora and James; his daughter Alexandra Graham and her husband Doug, their two daughters, Weiler and Georgia; and his son Hamilton Pollard and his wife Erin, their three children, Penelope, Charlotte and Keene.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Redlands Family Services Association of Redlands.

A private memorial service will be held on August 5.
