Shoot4Cash events have been designed to award money to local clubs, teams and organizations. The event allows three students representing their organization to “shoot for money” at a halftime show at each of five local high schools.

The student has 30 seconds to complete a lay-up, a free throw and a three-point shot, then a half-court shot worth $500. All four hits are progressive for a total of $500. The lay-up is worth $50, the free throw $100, the three-point shot $250 and the half-court $500.

During this basketball season, two college students won $500 for shooting on the half court. Crimson Cliffs High School student Noah Nelson nailed the half-court shot, earning the swim team $500. Desert Hills High School student Jaxon Resendez also nailed a half-court shot to win $500 for the boys’ football team. This year, a total of $3,500 was donated to local schools.

“I look forward to basketball season every year because of the Shoot4Cash events which allow me to build relationships with students, counselors and administrators,” said Jamie Bahlmann, Public Relations Director of the Stephen Wade Auto Center. “The sole purpose of these events is to give back to schools and teams that don’t always receive large donations.”

There were 68 organizations that participated, with 15 clubs receiving money from Shoot4Cash events. Clubs can enter by commenting on the name of their club, team or organization on a post on each high school’s Instagram account for a chance to win cash. There were over 12,000 comments from students representing various organizations.

Over the past six years, $30,000 has been donated to local high schools through Shoot4Cash events alone. This does not include the amount given during the football season with Kick4Cash events.
